The NHS Constitution states that you have the right to access certain services commissioned by the CCG within maximum waiting times. Where this is not possible and you ask for this, the NHS will take all reasonable steps to offer you a range of suitable alternative providers.

You have the legal right to start your NHS consultant-led treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks from referral, unless you chooose to wait longer or it is clinically appropriate that you wait longer.

Working with our hospital providers, including The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, we are striving to ensure the maximum time patients will wait from referral to treatment is 18 weeks, with an average of nine weeks.

To continue to achieve this aim, as set out in the NHS Constitution, we are developing new services and redesigning care pathways to reduce delays in patient care and to make sure that the right type and amount of services are available across the borough.
