Fraud has a major financial impact on the NHS – last year the value of fraud and unlawful action identified by NHS Protect was £2.07 million.

We have a Local Counter Fraud Specialist, Beric Dawson, who works to raise awareness of fraud issues amongst CCG staff, GPs, practice staff and other health service providers. This includes raising awareness of the Bribery Act 2010, which came into force in 2011. The following documents provide more information about this important piece of legislation.
