The winter issue of Livin' it! is available to pick up now from locations throughout the borough.

Livin' it! is an eight page quarterly newsletter from NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG), which updates people about local healthcare services and offers insight into the CCG’s decision-making role.

In this edition, there are health tips on how you can stay well this winter, how you can book to visit a GP or nurse in the evening, at the weekend or on bank holidays and information on going dry this January.

This winter edition includes articles on a new system introduced in GP practices to help patients to access the right care to meet their needs, how you can get involved with Healthwatch Rochdale and read how Heywood’s Tudor Court has been officially opened after an extensive refurbishment.

It also includes an article on how researchers would like to hear from you about an innovative new scheme using new technology to help GPs better predict and prevent long term conditions such as heart disease, diabetes and respiratory disease and a local children’s health team that CARES has received an award for improving services to keep children and young people out of hospital.

Dr Chris Duffy, local GP and HMR CCG Chair, said: “Communicating and engaging with local people about the kinds of healthcare services they want to see in the borough is an important part of our work, and Livin’ it! is a great way to help them to understand what we do and update them on developments and how we are continually trying to improve healthcare throughout the borough and raise awareness of local and national campaigns.”.”

Copies of Livin’ it! are available to pick up from your local GP Practice, pharmacy, optician, dental practice, library, children’s centre and other outlets.

You can also view Livin’ it! online here and you can subscribe to receive each edition by email directly to your inbox.
