NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale CCG has been rated as ‘good’ by NHS England in its annual assessment of CCGs.
This result is one of four that are given to CCGs nationwide, ranging from inadequate, requires improvement, good and outstanding, using a matrix of performance indicators.
Amongst the areas where the CCG performed the best in the country were standards in GP services, financial management of the organisation and the quality of leadership.
Dr Chris Duffy is a local GP and chairs the CCG. He said,
“We are pleased with the solid assessment given to us by NHS England, as being a good CCG. We have been recognised for the great strides that have been made in the quality and range of services locally, that have benefitted local patients. However, we are not an organisation that rests on its laurels and as such we will be using the analysis to develop our work programmes to improve further to become outstanding.”
