The Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (HMR) 2016 STAR Awards have been launched, which thank and recognise the contribution made by GPs, practice staff and other local NHS teams.
The annual awards are organised by NHS HMR Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and are aimed at GPs, practice and CCG staff for the work that they do to help deliver the CCG’s objective of ‘creating healthier people and a better future’.
This year there are seven award categories, with one – the People’s Star (the Nancy Fallon Memorial Award) – open to local people and patients to nominate local GPs, practice managers, practice nurses or GP receptionists who you feel deserve special thanks and recognition.
The other six awards are nominated by staff, within the health service, for special achievements. This year, a new category has been introduced to recognise GP practices that work hard to adopt sustainability policies, such as recycling and saving power.
Dr Chris Duffy, Chair of NHS HMR CCG said:
“We want the awards to continue to be successful and we’d encourage all patients and public to participate by nominating their NHS hero, in the People’s Star award. If you have been pleased with the care you have received, the way you have been treated by your GP, or someone at your GP practice, you can thank them by nominating them for the People's Star award."
How to nominate:
To help with shortlisting and the final selection of winners, you should give as much detail as possible about the person or team you are nominating, within the 200 word limit. This could be about their achievements; approach to colleagues, patients, work, change or challenges; reasons why they are a great example for others, and employees, of which the NHS can be proud; or what they've done to provide excellent customer service.
Be clear about why you think that the person, or team, you are nominating is a HMR Star. Tell us why, in up to 200 words, you feel that they deserve an award
Complete a nomination form in one of the following ways:
