NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG) is holding two important meetings in public this month and the public is invited to attend.

HMR CCG’s Primary Care Commissioning Committee Meeting is on Friday 9 November 2018. Held quarterly, these meetings are where official business is discussed and formal decisions are made about the commissioning of GP services in the Rochdale borough.

At the November meeting the agenda will include updates on primary care finance, contracts and estates; performance and quality; and primary care innovation and transformation. Transformation of health and social care in the Rochdale borough will also be discussed.

The Primary Care Commissioning Committee Meeting takes place as follows:

Date: 9 November 2018

Time: 11.30am-1.30pm

Venue: Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU

Also taking place this month is the CCG’s Governing Body meeting. The Governing Body meetings are where official business is discussed and formal decisions are made about everything from policies to which health services will be commissioned.

At this month’s meeting corporate terms of reference will be discussed. CCG business including quality and safeguarding; performance; and 2019/20 savings proposals are on the agenda; and board members will also hear updates on the Kirkholt Health Centre development and the Health and Wellbeing Board (HWBB).

The Governing Body meeting takes place as follows:
Date: Friday 16 November 2018
Time: 10.30am-12.30pm
Venue: Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale, OL16 1XU

Public questions are welcome at both meetings and can either be submitted through the website on the Governing Body page here or the Primary Care Commissioning Committee Meeting page here, or asked during the open questions slot at beginning of each meeting.

Members of the public attending the meetings are asked to report to reception on arrival at Number One Riverside. Anyone with a disability or any additional needs and requires assistance at the meeting is asked to please inform our Corporate Affairs and Governance Manager of their requirements in advance by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

It is requested that anyone submitting questions in advance of the Governing Body and Primary Care Commissioning Committee meetings does so at least 24 hours before the meetings commence. This will allow sufficient time for the question to be picked up and processed, before the meeting takes place. We would also ask people who have questions to ask to arrive half an hour before the meeting begins, so we are able to accurately capture the question as well as contact details to ensure a full response is provided.

Dr Chris Duffy, local GP and Chair of NHS HMR CCG, said: “Our Primary Care Commissioning Committee and Governing Body meetings are great opportunities for residents to see for themselves how we plan and purchase health services in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale and we encourage local people to attend. Public questions are an important part of our meetings and I’d urge anyone with a question to submit it and we can respond.

“If you can’t make it to the meetings, follow us on Twitter @NHSHMR for live tweets giving an overview of items being discussed and decisions made.”

The agendas and papers for the meetings, responses to previous public questions and meeting schedules can also be found on the Governing Body and Primary Care Commissioning Committee pages of our website.
