The summer issue of livin’ it! is available for you to pick up and read from locations throughout the borough.
NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG) produces a quarterly newsletter called livin’ it! The newsletter updates people about local healthcare services and offers a snapshot into the CCG’s decision-making role.
In this edition local residents can learn about how to stay well this summer with tips on sun protection and how to barbecue food safely, how the borough is promoting better mouth hygiene in older people and how volunteer health workers are helping the homeless providing them with access to vital health monitoring, support and advice. There are also articles on how the NHS is celebrating its 70th Birthday on 5th July, the launch of ‘Our Rochdale’ – a new website meaning easy access to local information and support – and how you can nominate your local HMR STAR in the CCG annual staff awards.
This time there is news of a local mental health trust receiving a gold star for its work with carers, how the CloserCare service received top marks from a local resident and how the Homeshare project is helping people to stay in their own homes, as well as diary dates information and how you can book to see a GP or nurse in the evenings, at weekends and on bank holidays.
Dr Chris Duffy, local GP and HMR CCG Chair, said: “We are continually working to engage with local residents and producing our quarterly newsletter ‘livin’ it!’ is a significant part of our engagement. It provides local people with information about the projects underway in the borough and the healthcare services and schemes available.”
Copies of livin’ it! are available to pick up from your local GP practice, dental practice, library, pharmacy, children’s centre and other outlets.
