Claire is responsible for the Integrated Commissioning Directorate which includes all age commissioning, strategic programme delivery and LCO development, Primary Care, Business Intelligence Hub and Adult Social Care and Public Health commissioning.  Claire is the CCG’s Data Protection Officer (DPO).

Claire is a member representative on the Greater Manchester Strategic commissioning group and GM Commissioning review group. Claire is a member of the Integrated Commissioning Board, member of the Local Care Organisation board and the GM Directors of Commissioning group. Claire is a member of Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) and the GM ADASS lead for Autism and Complex needs.

Claire Richardson joined the organisation on 1 February 2021 as a joint post with Rochdale borough Council in the role of Director of Strategic Commissioning / DASS. Claire represents both the CCG and Council in the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership system and Combined Authority and sits on the governing body of the CCG and is a member of the Integrated Commissioning Board.

Claire was previously the Director of Population Strategy and Transformation at the Pennine Lancashire CCGs/Integrated Care Partnership.

Blackburn born and bred Claire has a good understanding of issues affecting diverse communities in northern towns and has worked in other joint commissioning roles across Pennine Lancashire for nearly 20 years, covering many different portfolios from teenage pregnancy and children and young people, to frailty and end of life care.  Claire recently led the development of the Integrated Care Partnership strategic narrative and commissioning functions across Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System (ICS).  Claire has also led on the development of integrated care models for adults and children by working with different teams including governing body members, GPs and elected members.  Claire is passionate about improving the lives of local residents and reducing inequalities through engaging with communities and partners to get the best for local people.
