One in four of us will have some sort of mental health problem in our life. This means there are thousands of people in the Rochdale borough who either have problems themselves or know someone else who is experiencing them.
Mental health isn't only relevant for people with conditions like Alzheimer's or Bipolar disorder, it's about people's emotional health and wellbeing too. Unfortunately, mental health is still a taboo subject in society and has a massive stigma attached to it but we are working on campaigns and initiatives to help tackle stigma.

If you are worried about the affects of the credit crunch on your life or have feelings of depression and anxiety, there are a number of people you can turn to:
- Friends and family- Dont suffer alone, talk to those closet to you for support
- PALS- the Patient Advice and Liaison Service can point you in the right direction for support. Call 0800 121 4430.
- Doctor- your family doctor can help to improve your mental health
- Primary Mental Health Team- the team can help with mild to moderate mental health problems. Call 01706 261940.
