NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale is the leader of health in the Rochdale borough. As a Primary Care Trust, we work hard to improve the health and well-being of every person living in Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale.
The NHS is not just about treating illness, it also helps you to stay healthy and not get ill in the first place. We do this by working closely with other NHS organisations, Rochdale Borough Council, healthcare professionals and many other healthcare providers.
We cover a population of more than 206,000 over 20 wards. Our population has significantly poorer health compared to the rest of the country, with more deprived areas, so we focus on helping people in these areas to live longer and happier lives.
From April 2013, NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale will be replaced by Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Clinical Commissioning Group (HMR CCG). HMR CCG will be responsible for the commissioning of certain health services for the population of Rochdale Borough. Other health services (such as GP’s, and Dentists) will be commissioned by the National Commissioning Board, and Public Health services will become the responsibility of Rochdale Borough Council.
